I pass Tartine every day on my way to work. Very often it’s rented out for film and photo shoots, which I suspect are more profitable for the place than selling a few coffees.

Funny how there’s more money in people’s ideal of New York than actual New York.

That’s pretty much  what   is happening in the East Village; and they continue to film so, to keep those of ideals of NYC, regardless if a building is in danger of collapse.
